A court in Kollam granted statutory bail to more accused individuals involved in the Sabarimala temple gold loss cases on Thursday. This decision comes as the Special Investigation Team (SIT) failed to file charge sheets within the mandated 90-day period following the arrests.
Chennai-based Smart Creations CEO Pankaj Bhandari and Ballari-based jeweler Govardhan Roddam are among those released. They faced charges related to the Dwarapalaka gold plates and the door frames of the Sreekovil.
So far, ten accused have been bailed in connection to these cases. Authorities recovered gold allegedly corresponding to the losses from Sabarimala, and they anticipate filing the charge sheets by March-end, as stated by the SIT to the Kerala High Court.
