A villager was fatally shot and four police officers were injured when violence erupted in the Muzaffarpur district of Bihar on Tuesday evening.
The officers, led by the station house officer, were attempting to arrest a man wanted in two cases when they faced an aggressive mob in Gaighat locality.
The situation escalated as stones were thrown, and gunfire ensued, forcing police to fire in self-defense. The injured officers are now stable, and an investigation is ongoing to apprehend those responsible.
