Congress Presses Bondi on Handling Epstein Investigation

Attorney General Pam Bondi faces a congressional subpoena to testify about the Justice Department's investigation into Jeffrey Epstein. The subpoena, issued by the Republican-led Oversight Committee, addresses concerns over the handling of millions of files linked to Epstein.

This move, backed by five Republicans, highlights a rift within President Donald Trump's circle regarding Bondi's management of the file review. Representative James Comer emphasized in his communication that Bondi, as Attorney General, bore direct responsibility for overseeing the DOJ's adherence to the Epstein Files Transparency Act.

The Department, however, deemed the subpoena unnecessary, asserting that files had been made available for viewing and that Bondi remained accessible for discussions with Congress members. Nevertheless, accusations about document handling and redaction practices continue to shadow the Department's efforts.
