Controversy Surrounds Journalist's Remark on Gandhi

The Bombay High Court has requested a response from the Maharashtra Home Department and city police concerning a petition urging action against a journalist and another individual. The petition alleges derogatory remarks about Mahatma Gandhi were made.

During the Sakal Hindu Samaj Sammelan, journalist Pushpendra Kulshrestha reportedly made contentious statements, questioning Gandhi's title as the Father of the Nation, according to petitioner Ashwin Bais, a local Congress member.

The high court, through Justices Anil Pansare and Nivedita Mehta of its Nagpur bench, has summoned responses from various parties, including Kulshrestha and event organizer Nishant Gandhi, by March 30. An audio recording of the speech is to be presented as evidence.
