Delhi Resident Arrested in Gurugram for Assaulting College Student at House Party

In a shocking incident, a Delhi resident was arrested by Gurugram police for allegedly sexually assaulting a 19-year-old college student during a house party in Sector 33. The accused, identified as 29-year-old Divyam, was taken into custody and presented in court on Monday, where he was sent to judicial detention, authorities confirmed.

The victim, a student from Delhi University originally hailing from West Bengal, attended a birthday celebration at a friend's flat where alcohol was being served. The accused reportedly joined the gathering through their mutual friend and took advantage of the situation, police stated.

The alleged assault occurred late at night when Divyam, under the influence of alcohol, molested the young woman. Despite her resistance, he managed to take her to a secluded area within the apartment complex and committed the offense. Startled by the attack, the victim raised an alarm and notified her friend. The following day, she reported the incident to the police. An investigation is currently underway, a senior officer noted.
