Judge Blocks Key Elements of Kennedy's Vaccine Policy Overhaul

A federal judge in Boston has halted crucial parts of Health Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr.'s plan to change U.S. vaccine policies, declaring the actions as illegally conducted by health regulators. This ruling was in response to a lawsuit filed by the American Academy of Pediatrics and other medical groups.

The judge's decision forces the Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices (ACIP) to postpone an upcoming meeting. U.S. District Judge Brian Murphy found that Kennedy's 13 appointees to the committee were unlawfully serving, dealing a blow to Kennedy's agenda of revising the childhood vaccination schedule.

Murphy emphasized that Kennedy’s changes disregarded established scientific methods, casting doubts on the integrity of U.S. vaccination strategies. The ruling underscores ongoing tensions between public health officials and Kennedy's controversial vaccine policies, which have raised concerns among medical and vaccine manufacturers alike.
