Escalating Tensions: Israel Targets Lebanese Infrastructure in Bold Military Move

The Israeli military has admitted to striking the Zrariyeh bridge in southern Lebanon, marking a significant shift in tactics by targeting civilian infrastructure. According to the military, the bridge was a route used by Hezbollah militants moving between northern and southern regions, but no evidence was provided to substantiate these claims.

While attacking civilian infrastructure is generally prohibited under international law, exceptions can be made if it serves military purposes. The military, however, did not disclose any legal consultations prior to the attack or detail any casualties, raising concerns over the attack's legitimacy.

This development coincides with widening military actions, including Israeli strikes on Beirut's predominantly Christian suburbs and ongoing clashes with Hezbollah. The conflict has resulted in nearly 700 Lebanese casualties and massive displacement, as Israel intensifies its operations amid regional tensions.
