The Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI) made a significant breakthrough in its ongoing battle against illegal drug manufacturing with the discovery of a clandestine facility in Kondapalli, NTR District. As part of 'Operation White Hammer,' the agency seized an astounding 237 kg of the psychotropic substance Alprazolam, valued at Rs 47 crore.

The raid uncovered not only the finished product but also 800 kg of raw materials and 2,860 litres of various chemicals. Industrial equipment such as reactors, driers, and a centrifuge were also confiscated. This setup illustrates the sophistication and scale of the illegal operation, managed by a chemist with over two decades of experience.

Preliminary investigations reveal the chemist collaborated with an accomplice who facilitated the raw material supply and distribution network in Hyderabad. Both individuals have been arrested, and charges are being filed. The DRI reported that this marks the dismantling of the eighth illegal drug manufacturing unit this financial year.
