A protest sparked by unresolved dearness allowance arrears unfolded outside Khadya Bhavan, the headquarters of West Bengal's Food and Civil Supplies Department, as state employees attempted to disrupt office activities on Friday.
Spearheaded by 'Sangrami Joutha Mancha', the agitation was in response to the government’s inaction regarding a Supreme Court directive mandating arrears pay. Bhaskar Ghosh, forum leader, encouraged solidarity by offering roses to working colleagues, though he denies claims of obstruction.
Despite the protest's momentum, Trinamool Congress reports claim operations continued unaffected with full attendance. As unrest grows, the government's stance on DA parity faces increasing scrutiny, particularly as BJP’s Suvendu Adhikari backs the strikers.
