In a shocking revelation, a former Indian Army jawan, Akhilesh Kumar, has been implicated in a fraudulent scheme aimed at securing Rs 3 lakh in insurance benefits from the Army Group Insurance Fund. Kumar, in cahoots with his wife and a local sarpanch, reportedly submitted false documents claiming his death.
According to police sources, the fabricated claim dates back to 2011 when Kumar's wife, Gyanti Devi, submitted an extended insurance certificate alongside a fraudulent death certificate. This resulted in the disbursement of funds in 2013. The discovery of the fraud came to light during a routine police verification that confirmed Kumar's survival.
The FIR includes serious charges under various sections of the Indian Penal Code, following complaints from the insurance directorate. An investigation is underway as authorities work to recover the funds and pursue legal action against those involved in the calculated deception.
