On Wednesday, the canteen at Delhi High Court announced a temporary halt in offering its main course meals. This decision stemmed from an abrupt shortfall in cooking gas—an issue quickly rectified upon securing an LPG supply.
The situation underscores a larger challenge emanating from international tensions. Current geopolitical conflicts have impacted the Strait of Hormuz, a critical passageway accounting for 85-90% of India's West Asian LPG imports. Consequently, India, which imports 62% of its LPG, faces potential supply disruptions.
Despite the global complexities, the canteen briefly turned to serving alternative refreshments, ensuring service continuity for court advocates and staff.
