The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister, Sohail Afridi, has been formally named in a chargesheet filed at a Pakistani court regarding the May 9 attack on the Radio Pakistan building in Peshawar. The incident was part of nationwide protests by Imran Khan's supporters.
The chargesheet was submitted to the Anti-terrorism Court, implicating Afridi and other prominent figures such as former provincial ministers Taimur Saleem Jhagra and Kamran Bangash, and PTI district president Irfan Saleem. According to officials, forensic reports and CCTV footage confirmed the suspects' involvement.
The attack saw protesters damage military installations across Pakistan. Key sites such as the Lahore Corps Commander's house, Mianwali Airbase, and the ISI building were vandalized. The Radio Pakistan facility in Peshawar was seriously damaged, with intruders setting fire to official documents and assaulting staff, including women.
