A Karnataka court has delivered a significant sentence to Dhareppa Khanase, a 25-year-old man, imposing 40 years of rigorous imprisonment for the rape of a minor girl with physical and mental disabilities in Belagavi district.
The crime took place when Khanase illegally entered the girl's home while her family was at work, perpetrating the act. Following a prompt complaint by the girl's parents, the case was registered under the POCSO Act and SC/ST Act.
