The Jharkhand Assembly was the scene of intense debate on Tuesday as the treasury and opposition benches clashed over perceived failures in law and order, bureaucratic dominance, and corruption within the state. AJSU Party MLA Nirmal Mahato was ejected following a disruption during the proceedings.
Leader of Opposition, Babulal Marandi, highlighted incidents in the Giridih and Pakur districts, accusing the Hemant Soren-led government of being run by bureaucrats and fostering corruption. He demanded an immediate discussion on these matters. Parliamentary Affairs Minister Radhakrishna Kishore countered these claims, asserting that opposition attempts to ensure media focus were behind the disruptions.
The debate also touched on educational issues in minority schools, with CPI(ML) MLA Arup Chatterjee urging for equal benefits for students in these institutions. State minister Sudivya Sonu noted the distinction between government and minority schools but pledged to consider policy adjustments. Speaker Rabindra Nath Mahato urged calm and adherence to procedural rules throughout.
