A U.S. military service member has succumbed to injuries from Iran's counter-attack, according to a statement released by the U.S. military on Sunday. This tragic death marks the seventh U.S. troop fatality in the ongoing confrontation with Iran.
The service member suffered serious wounds during an assault on U.S. forces in Saudi Arabia on March 1. The incident served as part of Iran's broader attacks across the Middle East region, escalating tensions further.
The service member's identity will remain confidential until 24 hours after the next of kin have been informed, U.S. Central Command reported.
