An early morning confession at the Sadar Police Station jolted law enforcement officials when Vijay Kushwaha, a 29-year-old mechanic, admitted to the brutal murder of his sister-in-law with a brick. He alleged the victim was his lover, an underage girl he reportedly abducted earlier.
As per Circle Officer Ram Gopal Sharma, Kushwaha had fled to Delhi with the 17-year-old girl last Wednesday. A complaint filed by her family led to a case of abduction being registered, and their location was tracked down to Delhi before they returned to Etawah.
The crime occurred following a dispute at Kushwaha's residence. In a rage, he strangled the girl and then bludgeoned her with a brick. Officers suggest familial discord and Kushwaha's illicit relationship were pivotal factors in the tragedy.
