Sudan-Ethiopia Drone Allegations Escalate Tensions in Civil War

Sudan has made a significant allegation against Ethiopia, accusing it of launching drone attacks from Ethiopian territory into Sudan during February and March. This marks the first direct accusation against Ethiopia in the escalating three-year civil war.

The Sudanese foreign ministry released a statement late Monday, indicating that the world's deadliest conflicts are seeing the involvement of regional powers. As the Sudanese army battles the paramilitary Rapid Support Forces (RSF), the conflict threatens the country's stability and has led to mass displacement.

The allegations have intensified tensions, with drones becoming prominent in the war, causing significant civilian casualties. Meanwhile, Sudan warns Ethiopia of potential consequences due to the allegedly hostile acts, asserting its right to defend its sovereignty and territorial integrity.
