Israeli settlers in the occupied West Bank have killed a Palestinian American man, escalating the already tense situation in the region. According to reports, the incident occurred during a clash in the village of Mukhmas when settlers attacked a local farmer.
The Palestinian Health Ministry confirmed the death of 19-year-old Nasrallah Abu Siyam, marking the first Palestinian casualty by settlers in 2026. This tragic event has added to the surge of violence in the West Bank, where both Israeli forces and settlers reportedly killed 240 Palestinians last year.
The UN accused Israel of war crimes, citing practices that might lead to ethnic cleansing, amid rising violence and demographic changes in Palestinian areas. The Committee to Protect Journalists also highlighted the plight of Palestinian journalists facing harsh conditions in Israeli detention.
