Waheed-Ur-Rehman Parra, representing Pulwama, raised this resolution amid an increasing number of allegations regarding harassment and assaults. The resolution, according to the Assembly Secretariat, has been admitted under Rule 179 of the Rules of Procedure and Conduct of Business in the J-K Legislative Assembly.
In recent weeks, significant political attention has focused on the issue, with activists and politicians urging the government of India and state authorities to implement stronger protections and accountability methods to prevent, investigate, and prosecute such offenses vigorously.
