Security forces, guided by the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), have embarked on an extensive mission titled 'KGH 2' around the Chhattisgarh-Telangana border. This operation targets prominent Naxal commanders as part of a strategic government effort to eradicate Left Wing Extremism by March 2026, authorities reported on Wednesday.
Approximately 2,000 personnel from the CRPF and Chhattisgarh Police are involved in this operation, which commenced on Tuesday, officials disclosed. The mission specifically seeks Central Committee member Devji, also known as Chetan, and junior cadre Kesa Sodhi of the CPI(Maoist), they noted.
This initiative follows the success of April-May 2025's 'Operation Black Forest,' a joint endeavor by CRPF and Chhattisgarh Police, which resulted in the elimination of 31 Maoists and the seizure of substantial armaments. The operation 'KGH 2' has been deployed across key areas like Nambi and Korgotalu Hills, commonly referred to as Karregutta Hills.
