The mystery surrounding a charred body discovered in Alur taluk has deepened as police launch an investigation into a suspected murder. Identified as Veerappa, 58, the deceased worked as a driver for the Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation.

Police revealed the incident came to light Tuesday near Rajanahalli in Hassan district. According to reports, Veerappa's body was found completely charred, raising the possibility of premeditated foul play.
