Tehran and Washington: Renewed Talks Amid Escalating Tensions

Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi announced plans to meet the director of the UN nuclear watchdog ahead of the next round of nuclear discussions with the U.S., underscoring a crucial phase in resolving long-standing tensions over Iran's nuclear activities.

As the U.S. deploys additional military forces to the region, Araqchi emphasized his commitment to negotiating a fair agreement, but firmly rejected succumbing to threats. Tehran is steadfast that talks focus solely on curbing its nuclear activities for sanctions relief, dismissing any discussions on its missile capabilities.

Despite historic stalls in negotiation, especially following U.S. demands for Iran to halt uranium enrichment, Tehran maintains its nuclear initiative is purely for civilian use. The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) remains central in demanding more transparency, with inspections at critical Iranian sites still pending resumption amid geopolitical tensions.
