In a bold daylight heist, a 19-year-old man identified as Jafar was detained for stealing gold jewelry after executing a deceptive ploy targeting car occupants in the bustling area of Sangam Vihar.
On February 6, Bhabhuti Prasad Sharma and his family were traveling when they were flagged down for a purported oil leak. As they halted, Jafar sprayed an irritant inside their vehicle, prompting the family to exit while he seized the opportunity to grab a bag filled with precious items and swiftly escaped on a motorcycle.
Thanks to rigorous surveillance and analysis of over 50 CCTV cameras, police tracked the suspect and reclaimed the stolen gold jewelry. The suspect confessed to the theft, revealing an accomplice yet to be captured.
