In a tragic incident, a six-year-old girl's body was found in a water-filled pit in the Diva area of Thane, according to police reports on Saturday.
Authorities were alerted by passersby who noticed the body behind Khan Compound in the Shil Phata area. Yasin Tadvi, head of the Thane Municipal Corporation's disaster management cell, stated that Fire Brigade personnel were dispatched to retrieve the body promptly.
A police officer revealed that a case of accidental death has been registered at Daighar police station. Further investigations are focused on determining the circumstances leading to the incident, with statements being collected from the girl's family and local residents.
