The Assam government has taken a decisive step by expelling three Bangladeshi immigrants classified as illegal by the Foreigners Tribunal. Officials confirmed this action on Saturday, citing concerns over public safety and internal security as the driving factors.
Invoking Section 2 of the Immigrants (Expulsion from Assam) Act of 1950, the government has mandated their departure from Indian soil within 24 hours of receiving the expulsion orders. These orders, authenticated by the district commissioner, specifically target Md Fakruddin, Md Rafiqul Ali, and Md Faizul Haque, who were identified residing in Bokajan and Manja police station areas, respectively.
Failure to adhere to the evacuation orders will result in enforced removal. The government has emphasized the necessity of this step to safeguard general public interests and maintain internal security, as articulated in the official expulsion documentation.
