Delhi Government's Push for Workplace Equality: The Rollout of SHe-Box 2.0

In a significant step towards ensuring workplace equality, the Delhi government has mandated all its departments to register on the SHe-Box 2.0 portal. This directive aligns with the Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace (Prevention, Prohibition and Redressal) Act, 2013, officials reported on Wednesday.

The SHe-Box 2.0, a Central government initiative, provides a unified platform for women to file harassment complaints. Chief Minister Rekha Gupta's administration emphasizes digital compliance for monitoring complaints and data. The Supreme Court has similarly urged all states and Union territories to update requisite information on the platform.

Departments, including the revenue department, have been directed to ensure compliance, with district magistrates overseeing registrations. A senior revenue officer noted that majority of offices have already joined the portal, with future drives planned to verify compliance. The Sexual Harassment Act mandates internal complaints committees for employers with ten or more employees.
