Delhi Traffic Police's Zero Tolerance Campaign Tackles City Violations Head-On

The Delhi Traffic Police has ramped up its enforcement efforts, issuing more than 4,800 challans at two major intersections in one month as part of its 'Zero Tolerance' campaign, an official confirmed on Tuesday.

Azadpur Chowk, under Model Town Circle, emerged as the most intensively monitored area, accounting for 2,794 e-challans during the month-long drive. Violations at this critical traffic hub, which is surrounded by wholesale markets, included wrong-side driving and improper parking by e-rickshaws, according to officials.

Beyond the ticketing system, police conducted 1,057 checks under Vehicle on Call Action (VoCA), towing 127 vehicles and impounding 37, illustrating a comprehensive approach to enforcement. Shalimar Bagh Chowk also saw significant action with 2,037 challans issued, largely due to issues flagged by residents such as improper parking and congestion.
