Nepal's Strategic Military Move: Ensuring Secure Elections

Nepal's preparation for the imminent general elections enters a pivotal phase as the Nepal Army readies its deployment. Approved by President Ramchandra Paudel, the army mobilization forms part of a broader security strategy aimed at safeguarding the electoral process.

The government's Election Integrated Security Plan includes deploying personnel from the Nepal Army, Armed Police Force, Nepal Police, and the National Investigation Department. This coordinated approach ensures a three-tier security ring is established around election activities.

Approximately 80,000 army personnel will join a total contingent of around 3,40,000 to oversee security across 165 constituencies. They will cover numerous polling stations and booths, ensuring the elections proceed without disruption.
