Army's Vigorous Efforts in Counter-Terrorism Ops in Kishtwar

In a significant move to reinforce counter-terrorism efforts, Lt. Gen. P K Mishra, the General Officer Commanding of the Army's White Knight Corps, toured the Kishtwar district in Jammu and Kashmir on Monday. Accompanied by Major Gen. A P S Bal, General Officer Commanding of the Counter-Insurgency Force (Delta), they evaluated the current security operations.

The visit comes against the backdrop of aggressive anti-terrorism efforts targeting a contingent of Pakistan-based Jaish-e-Mohammad operatives, engaged in skirmishes across the Chatroo forest belt's snowy terrain. Over the preceding fortnight, four altercations with the militant group have underscored the urgency of these operations.

Through a detailed briefing on security protocols, the commanding officers assessed the operational readiness of the military units stationed regionally. High-level talks focused on refining the defensive grid and enhancing inter-agency collaboration, aiming for heightened security in the volatile district.
