Punjab: Truck catches fire in Ludhiana after contact with electric wires; driver dies

A truck driver died after his vehicle came into contact with high-tension electric wires and caught fire, police said on Sunday. The incident took place near the outskirts of Gill village on the Ludhiana-Malerkotla highway on Saturday night. The driver of the 16-tyre truck, identified as Harvinder Singh, could not come out and died inside the vehicle, police said.
