Teen's Dark Fantasies: Taylor Swift Event Praise Leads to Detention
British teenager McKenzie Morgan was sentenced to 14 months' detention for possessing a terrorist manual after praising a killer at a Swift-themed event and planning to bomb an Oasis concert. While no concrete plans were found, Morgan's online activity and interest in weapons raised serious concerns.
British teenager McKenzie Morgan received a 14-month detention sentence for possessing an al Qaeda manual. His apprehension followed disturbing social media activity praising a killer and alleged plans to attack events.
Prosecutor Corinne Bramwell shared that Morgan praised Axel Rudakubana on Snapchat and mentioned planning similar attacks. Despite searches for knives and attack locations, authorities found no concrete evidence of a planned attack.
Morgan's defense cited his autism diagnosis, emphasizing vulnerabilities to radicalization. CPS concluded Morgan fantasized rather than pursued terror acts. He pled guilty to possessing information useful for terrorism despite lacking intent to harm.
