In a speech at the 28th Conference of Speakers and Presiding Officers of the Commonwealth, Vice President and Rajya Sabha Chair C P Radhakrishnan emphasized the crucial role of presiding officers in maintaining decorum during debates. He highlighted the shared responsibility across legislatures worldwide to facilitate respectful discussions despite varying views.
Addressing the gathering at a luncheon, Radhakrishnan praised the historic Samvidhan Sadan as a testament to India's vibrant democracy, enriching for over seven decades. He remarked on the unity among Commonwealth nations through a shared parliamentary ethos and commitment to democratic values.
