Sujoy Paul Takes Oath as Calcutta High Court Chief Justice
Sujoy Paul was sworn in as the Chief Justice of the Calcutta High Court. The oath was administered by West Bengal Governor C V Ananda Bose. Justice Paul, who was appointed as a judge of the high court in 2025, had been serving as the Acting Chief Justice.

Sujoy Paul was recently inaugurated as the Chief Justice of the Calcutta High Court in a ceremony held at the court's main room.
The West Bengal Governor, C V Ananda Bose, conducted the oath-taking ceremony for Justice Paul, who officially assumed the high-ranking judicial position.
Justice Paul, whose judicial appointment dates back to July 2025, had been acting in the capacity of the Chief Justice prior to this official swearing-in, following the retirement of Justice T S Sivagnanam.
