In a disturbing incident that has shaken the city of Coimbatore, a 19-year-old college student was allegedly sexually assaulted by three unidentified men near the Coimbatore international airport, as reported by the local police on Monday.
According to the authorities, the assailants attacked the student's male friend and proceeded to assault her on the night of November 2, close to what is considered a high-security area, raising serious questions about public safety in the region.
This shocking incident has prompted swift action as seven special police teams have been deployed to apprehend the culprits. Political leaders, like BJP's K Annamalai, have criticized the ruling DMK government, attributing an increased fearlessness among anti-social elements to inadequate law enforcement under their regime.
