Hostage Crisis at R A Studio Ends Tragically

A tense hostage situation at R A Studio in Powai concluded with the tragic death of the perpetrator, Rohit Arya. The incident involved 17 children and two adults being held hostage by Arya, who had secured the premises using motion detectors and CCTV cameras.

Police intervened after being alerted by cries for help from inside the studio. Despite negotiations, Arya refused to release the hostages, prompting a fire brigade team to break into the building.

After a confrontation, Arya was shot by police in self-defense. Authorities uncovered airguns and flammable materials at the scene, leading to a criminal investigation conducted by the Crime Branch.
