The Punjab Police successfully dismantled a cross-border arms smuggling module allegedly connected to Pakistan, leading to the arrest of seven operatives in an intelligence-driven operation in Amritsar, officials reported.

Gaurav Yadav, the Director General of Police, announced on X that Shamsher Singh alias Sima, Amandeep Singh alias Bobby, Balwinder Singh alias Kaka, Gurdev Singh, Karanpreet Singh, Harman Singh, and one juvenile, all residents of Amritsar, were apprehended.

Authorities recovered 15 sophisticated firearms, including 9 Glock 9MM pistols and 6 .30 bore pistols, from the suspects. Preliminary findings suggest contact with a Pakistan-based handler via social media, indicating involvement in illegal weapons trafficking across Punjab. The investigation is advancing to dismantle the network entirely.
