An Israeli military operation in southern Lebanon has left one municipal employee dead, as tensions flare between Israel and Hezbollah. The incident occurred early Thursday when Israeli soldiers reportedly targeted terrorist infrastructure affiliated with Hezbollah.
The Lebanese government has condemned the raid, with President Joseph Aoun identifying the deceased as Ibrahim Salameh, who was killed in the line of duty. Locals in Blida, the village where the raid took place, expressed anger towards both the Lebanese army and UN peacekeepers for failing to protect civilians.
The Israeli incursion marks a significant escalation in an already tense situation, as officials urge international intervention to halt repeated violations and call for a complete withdrawal of Israeli forces from Lebanese territory.
