Political Tensions Escalate with Sarpanch Election Feud
A man, Gurcharan, alleged police that he was abducted, assaulted, and threatened at gunpoint via video call by the son of Punjab MLA Kulwant Bazigar. The conflict stems from Gurcharan's participation in a past sarpanch election. Investigations are underway while Bazigar denies the allegations.

In a dramatic turn of events, Gurcharan, a resident of Chicharwali village, claimed he was kidnapped and beaten by men brandishing a gun and iron rod. The incident allegedly involved a threatening video call from the son of Shutrana MLA, Kulwant Bazigar, as tensions flare over last year's sarpanch election.
According to Gurcharan's police complaint, the assailants seized him from Kharkan village and inflicted severe injuries before issuing threats via video call. This altercation is reportedly linked to ongoing electoral disputes with Bazigar.
While Guhla Deputy Superintendent of Police Kuldeep Beniwal confirmed the filing of a kidnapping and assault case, Bazigar dismissed the accusations, labeling them as an attempt to malign his reputation. Meanwhile, authorities are scrutinizing CCTV footage to pinpoint those responsible.
