The Madhya Pradesh Chief Electoral Officer (CEO), Sanjeev Kumar Jha, has underlined the importance of participating in the upcoming Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls. Political parties had previously raised concerns about the credibility of the voter lists, prompting this significant initiative.
The Election Commission has set November to February for the SIR across 12 states and Union Territories. In Madhya Pradesh, party booth level agents are tasked with ensuring an accurate voter roll via comprehensive door-to-door surveys conducted by Booth Level Officers (BLOs).
With over 5.74 crore voters and approximately 72,000 polling stations, the revision aims to rectify errors including dead voters and foreign national entries. The final voters' list will be published on February 7, following rigorous verification and consultation with political parties.
