Tragic Accident at Chhat Puja: Family Members Killed by Speeding Truck

In a tragic incident, three members of a family lost their lives on early Tuesday morning while en route to Chhat puja, after being hit by a speeding truck on National Highway-19. The accident occurred near Panchfediya village, as confirmed by police sources.
The victims were identified as Kumari Devi, 52, her daughter-in-law Chandni, 27, and her seven-year-old grandson, Saurav. They were making their way towards a ghat to perform rituals when the tragic event unfolded, said Alinagar Station House Officer Anil Kumar Pandey.
Following the accident, the truck driver reportedly lost control, crashing into a roadside temple before fleeing the scene. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has issued immediate directives for aid and relief to the grieving family, while efforts are underway to trace and apprehend the absconding driver.
