A Delhi court has reached a verdict convicting Mohammad Kamil on charges related to counterfeit currency. Despite alleged lapses in the investigation, the prosecution effectively proved the charges against the accused.
Additional Sessions Judge Hardeep Kaur highlighted that there were no substantial contradictions in the police testimonies. Kamil was arrested in 2018 near the Seelampur metro station while allegedly attempting to deliver fake currency.
The cache seized included two packets of Rs 2,000 notes, totaling Rs 8 lakh. With evidence firmly in place, the court found Kamil guilty under the Indian Penal Code section 498B, with sentencing discussions scheduled for October 29.
