In a bizarre crime spree, Spanish police have dismantled a criminal group allegedly dedicated to stealing chairs from outdoor seating areas in Madrid.

The group of seven, consisting of six men and one woman, is accused of pilfering over 1,100 chairs from 18 different establishments during overnight raids throughout August and September.

The stolen chairs, with an estimated value of USD 69,000, were reportedly resold across Spain and in Morocco and Romania.
