A tragic accident unfolded when Sunder, a 32-year-old laborer, was fatally struck by a speeding dumper truck on the Dehradun-Saharanpur highway, police reported on Tuesday.
Sunder, originally from Chajpura, was waiting by the roadside when a truck from Saharanpur hit him on Monday night, killing him instantly, as confirmed by Superintendent of Police (Rural) Sagar Jain.
The incident provoked a swift reaction from the local community, with villagers gathering at the scene and demanding the immediate arrest of the driver involved. Sub-Divisional Magistrate (Sadar) Subodh Kumar assured the victim's family of comprehensive support during this difficult time.
