The Centre has instructed all states and Union Territories to report on contractors and inspection agencies penalized under the Jal Jeevan Mission, according to sources on Monday.
The directive comes from the Department of Drinking Water and Sanitation under the Ministry of Jal Shakti, requiring Chief Secretaries to compile comprehensive reports.
Additionally, the states are asked to detail action taken against Public Health Engineering Departments' officials, including suspensions and FIRs, following a top-level review that discussed extending the mission's deadline to 2028.
