As India moves forward in becoming a leading global manufacturing hub, Artificial Intelligence (AI) is reshaping the industrial landscape, significantly boosting productivity and enhancing international competitiveness. At the 'AI-Powered Manufacturing: Accelerating India's Journey to a Global Manufacturing Hub' event, Dilip Sawhney, Chairman of the CII National Committee on Smart Manufacturing, highlighted AI's roles in smart factories, predictive maintenance, and supply chain optimization.
Sawhney underscored the importance of maximizing AI adoption, especially for MSMEs, which is resulting in increased efficiency, minimized downtime, and smarter decision-making. He stressed the need for the right ecosystem, involving digital infrastructure and workforce skilling, aligning with initiatives like 'Make in India' and the 'IndiaAI Mission'. Sanjeev Sehgal, Founder of Sparsh CCTV, emphasized that reskilling workers is crucial to maintaining employment in this tech-driven era.
The long-awaited India AI Impact Expo 2026, to be inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, will serve as a national AI demonstration platform. With arenas featuring global tech firms and startups, and country pavilions from nations like Australia, Japan, and the UK, it exemplifies AI's practical impact and fosters international collaboration.
