China has officially commissioned its third aircraft carrier, the Fujian, equipped with advanced electromagnetic catapults, signaling a major leap in its naval prowess. President Xi Jinping attended the ceremony in Sanya City, marking this milestone in China's maritime endeavors, as reported by Xinhua News Agency.

The Fujian, named after the Fujian Province, represents a vital transformation in the People's Liberation Army Navy's strategy, shifting focus from coastal to far seas defense. This transition solidifies China's status with three operational carriers, redefining its naval defense capabilities.

The Fujian's electromagnetic catapult technology enables aircraft to take off fully armed, enhancing combat readiness and sortie rates. On September 22, it successfully carried out catapult-assisted operations with J-15T, J-35, and KJ-600 aircraft, featured in China's recent V-Day parade. Meanwhile, China denied US claims about secret nuclear testing as unfounded.
