Celebrating Science: Russia Honors Innovators at National Awards

The 11th edition of the prestigious All-Russian Award "For Fidelity to Science" concluded with a grand ceremony in Moscow, celebrating standout contributions to science popularization and the enhancement of scientists' and engineers' professional reputations. The event saw the TV BRICS International Media Network as a key media partner.
The ceremony, hosted at the Theatre on Malaya Bronnaya, witnessed an unprecedented number of submissions, with over 2,000 projects highlighting a surge in public interest surrounding science communication, as reported by TV BRICS.
Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Chernyshenko took center stage to award the Digital Content Author category winner, Vladislav Vulfovich, for his engaging science show "Science for Everyone," which translates complex scientific ideas for popular bloggers.
In a speech with Russian President Vladimir Putin's acknowledgment, Chernyshenko highlighted the critical role of breakthrough knowledge and technology in promoting Russia's socio-economic growth and maintaining sovereignty.
Among the notable awardees were Natalya Vedeneeva, named Science Journalist of the Year, and Russian Academy of Sciences academician Irina Beletskaya, who received the Recognition award for contributions to chemistry. The Digital Content Author category also honored Andrey Gula's Laboratorium project from TV BRICS, which showcases Russian scientific breakthroughs and innovations.
The "For Fidelity to Science" award, established in 2015 as part of Russia's Decade of Science and Technology, noted substantial participation from regions like Tatarstan, Krasnodar Territory, and the Novosibirsk Region this year.
Organized by the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of Russia in collaboration with major scientific institutions, including the Russian Academy of Sciences, the Kurchatov Institute National Research Centre, and Lomonosov Moscow State University, the award witnessed a record number of applications for the national prize.
