The Islamabad High Court (IHC) is set to examine a series of petitions concerning visitation rights to incarcerated former prime minister Imran Khan. A larger bench, including Acting Chief Justice Sardar Mohammad Sarfaraz Dogar, will hear the 11 petitions on Thursday, with the aim of clarifying controversies linked to Khan's visitation rights at Adiala Jail, as reported by Dawn.

Among the petitions is one filed by the new Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Sohail Afridi, seeking a visit to Khan. The IHC has summoned various regional legal authorities, including representatives from Islamabad and Punjab, alongside prison officials, to address both visitation issues and a jurisdictional dispute over Adiala Jail.

Recently, Justice Arbab Muhammad Tahir overruled previous objections against Afridi's petition, citing 'fresh legal grounds' due to the unfinished cabinet formation in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. This followed after the court reinstated a bi-weekly visitation schedule for Khan. The adjudication intends to consolidate all current petitions on Khan's visitation rights, with additional responses due by October 23, informed Dawn and ANI.
