Punjab Health Minister Takes Action After Hospital Incident

Punjab Health Minister Balbir Singh suspended a Government Mata Kaushalya Hospital employee following allegations of misconduct. The incident, captured on video, showed the employee breaking glass and injuring a female patient, prompting Singh to express concern.

Singh ordered a departmental inquiry into the matter, highlighting zero tolerance for such behavior. The employee, Gurpreet Singh, will be relieved after a month's notice. Senior Medical Officers were directed to deploy more staff to minimize wait times at the OPD registration counter.

Reiterating the government's commitment to improving healthcare, Singh urged staff to demonstrate empathy towards patients. The minister also warned that any rowdy behavior from patients would face strict action.
