At least 36 individuals in Jharkhand's Palamu district fell ill Thursday due to suspected food poisoning at a wedding, officials reported.

Attendees at the event in Bohita village, within Lesliganj police station limits, experienced vomiting and diarrhoea after eating 'bundia,' a popular sugary fried sweet.

Healthcare provisions are underway at Lesliganj Hospital and Medinirai Medical College, with medical staff deployed from nearby blocks. Samples of 'bundia' are being tested to identify potential adulterants, according to Palamu civil surgeon Anil Kumar Shrivastav.
